You can also cook the mysterious 'rock-hard food' if you try and cook wood and gems together. Mmmm, nutritious!
How do I cook in Tears of the Kingdom?
Similar to Breath of the Wild, cooking is easy in the game. If you find yourself near a cooking pot, head into your inventory and grab the items you wish to cook with. Then, press A to drop them into the pot. After a little fanfare, you'll get a nice, hot meal.
Remember, you can also roast any fruit, meat, fish, or mushroom by dropping it in a fire. You can also roast eggs and acorns. Similarly, you can freeze meat and fish by dropping them in a snowy area.
