Lulu is an adorable little magician with a pink fairy called Pix. She’s a support character who you’ll almost always find in the Dragon Lane. With the help of this handy guide, you’ll soon get to grips with all the nuances of what makes a great Lulu player in League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Perhaps the most important thing to know about League of Legends: Wild Rift Lulu is that she should never be on her own. Whenever you’re playing as her, you need to be near – and preferably behind – a fellow Champion. They’re going to have to be good players as well, otherwise you’ll likely end up high and dry on the reg.
However, when you find a decent team, you’ll realise that Lulu is equally skilled when it comes to offence and defence and that she packs more than a little wallop when she needs to. Now let’s take a closer look at Lulu’s abilities, as well as her best possible build.
What are Lulu’s Abilities?
- Pix, Faerie Companion (Passive)
Pix attacks whoever Lulu is auto-attacking with three magical bolts. They hit the first enemy they come into contact with, so the bolts can be blocked by minions or other Champions. You can use some of Lulu’s other abilities to send Pix to attach herself to other Champions – both friends and foes.
When attached to an enemy, Pix reveals them and also attacks them whenever you do. When attached to an ally Champion, Pix ups their DPS by a considerable amount, and you won’t steal last hits from them either.
- Glitterlance (Active)
Glitterlance is a piercing bolt that also slows down anyone it touches by a massive 80%. It’s not just Lulu who fires it out – it’s Pix as well. So that’s two bolts for the price of one. You’ll need to practice aiming to get the most out of Glitterlance, but it can cause havoc when you nail it.
- Whimsy (Active)
Whimsy sets a glowing circle on the ground, and Pix attaches herself to the first Champion who walks over it. When an enemy walks over the portal, they’ll be polymorphed into an animal. This slows them and stops them from casting or attacking.
When Pix attaches herself to an ally through Whimsy, they’ll get bonus movement and attack speed. You should prioritise using Whimsy to target enemy Champions, as it delivers some awesome CC effects.
- Help, Pix! (Active)
This one sees you attaching Pix to an enemy or an ally. The enemies take damage, while allies receive a shield that protects them. You can get assists from any ally you’ve provided a shield for as well.
You should primarily use Help, Pix to damage an opponent when you’re the only one in range to take them down, otherwise save it for protecting your allies.
- Wild Growth (Active)
Wanna get massive? Then Wild Growth is the Ability for you. It causes you or an ally to grow in size and knocks up enemies that are caught in the growth blast instantly. You’ll gain some extra HP and slow any enemies that get close to you.
You can use Wild Growth to follow up another Champion’s initiation, or throw it out to protect an ally who’s in danger of being overwhelmed.
Lulu best Build
- Ionian Boots of Lucidity
These reduce the cooldown of your Abilities and your summoner spells. Upgrade them with the Locket Enchant to gain an extra team shield.
- Ardent Censer
The Censer Passive on these gives you and any ally targeted with the Help, Pix ability some extra attack speed bonuses. You’ll also get bonus magic damage on your attacks.
- Zeke’s Convergence
Cast your Ultimate with this equipped and you’ll get an AoE blizzard around you and give Ignite to a nearby ally’s attacks.
- Harmonic Echo
This adds an extra healing effect to Help, Pix when it’s fully charged. You’ll charge it by moving and casting.
- Athene’s Unholy Grail
This also adds extra healing to Help, Pix when it’s charged, but you charge it up by dealing damage to Champions.
- Protector’s Vow
This gives you and a nearby ally some shield when one of you takes damage. You’ll also get a small movement boost when it’s activated.
What are the best Runes for Lulu?
- Aery
This ups your poke damage and shielding. Plus, it doesn’t have a cooldown.
- Weakness
This pairs well with a number of your Abilities that knock up, polymorph, and slow your foes by making them receive 5% more damage when those effects are active.
- Loyalty
This one ups the dual resistance of both you and your closest ally.
- Hunter – Genius
With this, you’ll speed up your Ability Haste for every unique takedown you perform.
