Is Prime Gaming free with Amazon Prime?

Yes. If you have an Amazon Prime account already, then just go to the Prime Gaming page and start claiming all of the bonuses that you’re entitled to. If you don’t have an account yet, it’s easy enough to get set up with Prime, and you can do so via the link below.

How much does Prime Gaming cost?

The cost of Prime Gaming is the same as the cost of Amazon Prime. The first 30 days are free, but then after that, you have a monthly cost of $14.99 (£8.99).

Is Prime Gaming worth the cost?

It depends on how you use it. If you’re claiming loads of the in-game goodies on offer, as well as the weekly bonuses, you’ll see get much more out of it than you’ve paid for. If all the free games and free in-game content doesn’t appeal to you so much and you think you’ll only get one or two things each month, then it may not be worth it. Fortunately, the selection is broad enough that most gamers will find plenty that appeals to them.

Can I get Amazon Prime Gaming for free?

Technically, yes, but only for a month. Prime Gaming is a paid subscription, but as it is included with Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime gives you a free month, you can use that free trial whenever you feel like claiming a particularly exciting loot pack.

This could be especially exciting to smart shoppers because Amazon lets you have a free 30 days multiple times. Obviously, it’s not going to let you just use it over and over again indefinitely, but you could easily use it a handful of times a year whenever it has something that you really want.

How do free Prime games work?

Prime Gaming offers a selection of free games every month. Thus far, these free games have only ever been for PC. Obviously, this is great news if you’re a PC gamer as well, but may be a little disappointing if you wanted some free mobile games.

Unlike other subscription services like Nintendo Switch Online with its library of N64 games, Game Boy games, and more, Prime Gaming instead offers something more similar to Xbox Live Gold – with a free game given away each week. If you don’t claim them within the window of time that they’re available, you’ve missed your opportunity.

Historically, there’s been quite a broad selection of games given away through the platform, though it does tend to go for older releases. Examples include various entries in the Metal Slug series, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. It’s a good way to discover games you otherwise might not have gotten around to.

Something to keep in mind about this is that, although you do keep the games after you’ve claimed them, Amazon reserves the right to take them away again at any point. This is true of all Amazon products, from the Kindle through to movies and TV shows you buy. They’re not all going to just suddenly disappear, but Amazon has indeed been known to take back digital content without warning, so there’s not a lot of permanence with these games.

Can you get Prime Gaming in the UK?

You certainly can. Just as with the US, you just need an Amazon Prime account, and then you’ll have access to all the cool things that are offered through the service. If you’re already a Prime subscriber, go over to the Prime Gaming page and get started, but if you have yet to do so, it only takes a second, and there’s a 30-day free trial too.
