All Splatoon 3 Side Order palettes

Here’s everything you need to know about the Side Order palettes, including how to get them, and which characters there are.

Splatoon 3 Side Order palettes: a range of octolings holding different weapons

So, what are all the Splatoon 3 Side Order palettes you can unlock? Each palette gives you a new weapon to use inside the Spire of Order, a tower consisting of 30 levels that you need to beat in one go in order to win. Obviously, there are spoilers ahead if you haven’t finished the DLC, so continue at your own risk.

As you attempt to beat the tower, you get a load of Splatoon 3 Side Order rewards, which can help you out. Plus you meet some new Splatoon characters. As always, keep an eye out for the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest and what its theme is.

You are Agent 8, but you start off using Agent 4’s palette. From there, you can get a number of other palettes at random from the lockers outside the Spire. To get them, you need keys that appear after beating bosses every ten floors. However, you only get one key per boss and weapon combination. That means if you fight the Asynchronous Rondo with an Order Shot twice, you only get one key.

Once you have a palette, you can start using it in the Spire. Each palette pertains to a different character and has a unique combination of main weapon, special, sub, and color chip drop rates. Here are all the different palettes along with how to get them, and what equipment they have.

Splatoon 3 Side Order palettes: a range of color chips in a palette next to an octoling

What are Splatoon 3 Side Order color chips?

Every time you pick a level in the Spire, you get to pick a color chip to get. Very occasionally, you’ll get two – if you’re lucky. You can attach up to 36 chips to each palette, in a range of different colors pertaining to a variety of buffs. These are:

  • Range – increases the size of your reach with each weapon and sub
  • Power – increases the damage done by each hit, bomb, sub, etc
  • Mobility – adds to your speed when in and out of ink – yours and the enemy’s
  • Drone – adds abilities to Pearl in her drone form like new subs and lowering point requirements
  • Support – gives you buffs to things like ink recovery, targeting, and knockback among others
  • Lucky – increases the drop rate of ink, special, and armor refills, as well as increasing your lucky chain

By the way, your appearance and ink color change depending on how many chips you have of each color – so look out for a new hair color and contrasting nails.

Splatoon is one of our favorite multiplayer games on Switch, but if you want to try something else, perhaps these ocean games and fish games might tickle your fancy.
