New Taiko no Tatsujin mobile game drumming its way to iOS and Android

While there’s no Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Connect release date as yet, we do know the new mobile game from Bandai Namco is coming to iOS and Android.

Bandai Namco has announced a new Taiko no Tatsujin for iOS and Android. Assumedly hoping to join the ranks of the best rhythm games, the title is free to play but includes in-app purchases. We don’t have a Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Connect release date yet, however, nor do we know if it’s launching in the US and Europe.

As reported by Gematsu, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Connect is planned for release in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, and Thailand with English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese language support. Given that English support is included, we have our fingers crossed that a Western release could come after its initial launch.

The game includes over 600 songs for free, supported via adverts, with different ways to play with friends, different events to take part in, and that classic Taiko no Tatsuji drumming fun. Bandai Namco has a page all about the game, showing how you play in portrait mode and use different touch inputs to hit the drums at the right time.
