Is there a new Star Wars game coming in 2026?
We know that Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based tactics game, is due to release in 2026. It's set during the Clone Wars, with you taking on the role of Hawks, the man in charge of the mercenary group Zero Company. You better hope you're up to the task, as your squad members can die permanently - so, if you're the type to form attachments, you should probably prepare yourself for some inevitable heartbreak.
It's worth noting that Star Wars Zero Company isn't due to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, nor the OG console. Furthermore, its Steam Deck verification status is unknown, so we can't be sure whether or not handheld gamers will have any solid way to play the game.
There's a second Star Wars game that's due to release this year, and that's Star Wars Galactic Racer, letting you relive the glory days of pod racing. We also know that Fate of the Old Republic is on the way, though it's highly unlikely we'll see that RPG launch this year - we might be lucky to even see it in 2027
Will the KOTOR remake come to Switch?
At this point, I'm giving up any hope of actually seeing the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake at all. Still, from the little that we do know about the project, there's no mention of a Switch release, though, as the Nintendo Switch 2 is proving to be a powerful console capable of running Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Requiem, and Star Wars Outlaws, perhaps the KOTOR remake will be on the NS2 after its PlayStation release.
New Star Wars game release date window
Star Wars Zero Company is launching on August 27, 2026, and Galactic Racer is due to release on October 6, 2026. Fate of the Old Republic, meanwhile, doesn't even have a release window.
