There are plenty of roles that characters fit into, be it tank, support, or attacker, and you can upgrade each character to UR status, meaning no matter who you get, they can be a very strong unit no matter their skills or role.

How do I get more Sword Chronicles: Awaken characters?
In Sword Chronicles, there’s a gacha system with a couple of different banners to pull on for more characters. By spending meteorgems or using hero vouchers, you can recruit new units. Every ten pulls guarantees an SR or higher character, and every 40 gives an SSR unit.
There are only characters in the pool, not weapons or other items, so your roster fills up quickly. Oh, you also get a free SSR unit – Zhang Liao – as a welcome gift when you start the game.
