It’s that time of year again, when Apple announces the winners of the App Store Awards, and we have to say, the winners of the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Arcade Game of the Year accolades are all worthy champions. More than that, the judges chose from a variety of genres, each offering a different gameplay experience to players.
This year, the App Store Awards recognise League of Legends: Wild Rift as the iPhone Game of the Year, and this is certainly a worthy winner. The mobile MOBA has gone from strength to strength since releasing in late 2020, consistently adding new champions as the months roll by. Such additions include fan favourites like League of Legends: Wild Rift’s Senna, League of Legends Wild Rift’s Riven, Thresh, Brand, and more. If you’re thinking of giving this GOTY a try, check out our League of Legends: Wild Rift guide for some helpful tips.
Up next, we have the winner of iPad Game of the Year, and frankly, we’re excited about this one. Marvel Future Revolution takes home the prize, proving it pays to be the good guy once in a while. It’s an open-world RPG, the first of its kind in the world of Marvel on mobile. It features various characters from a range of franchises, including The Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange. You can check out our Marvel Future Revolution review to see if it’s for you.
Then there’s Fantasian, which picks up the accolade for Apple Arcade Game of the Year, and you can check out our Fantasian review to read our thoughts on it. This title is exclusive to iOS devices, and invites you to travel on a journey with Leo, a young man that loses his memory – it’s up to you, and his friends, to help him get them back. It’s a fun RPG that deserves the attention of Apple Arcade subscribers worldwide.
