You might recognize the name, and that’s because Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a 2022 Nintendo Switch game that is being spruced up for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The second new Kirby game to arrive in 2025 is one of the more surprising announcements from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct: Kirby Air Riders. That’s right, it’s a sequel to the popular GameCube game Kirby Air Ride, which is 22 years old in 2025. It’s not just Mario who’s ready to hit the track again this year.

Both new Kirby games are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, meaning you need to get your hands on the new hardware if you want to experience them. Plus, as Kirby is a beloved first-party IP, you shouldn’t ever expect to see the Pink Puffball anywhere but on a Nintendo console.
