Want a new FNAF game? Of course you do. If you’re a horror fanatic like me, you can’t get enough of Freddy and co, even if the animatronics are trying to kill you. This franchise holds a special place in the hearts of many, offering a first taste of spooks for some of you. So, can we expect any more new Five Nights at Freddy’s games in 2024? Let’s take a look.
While the prospect of another FNAF game is exciting, you might also want to know about the possibility of a new Star Wars game, a new Resident Evil game, a new Sonic game, and a new Zelda game. Is there a new FNAF game in 2024?
We’ve already had a new FNAF game this year, as Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit came out on PC in August, with the Xbox and PlayStation release following in September and the Switch version in October. In our FNAF: Into the Pit review, we described it as “a must-play for all FNAF fans,” scoring it an impressive 9/10.
However, we’re also expecting the first official FNAF game on Roblox before the year ends, with Survival Crew offering a Dead by Daylight-like experience, asking you to team with other security guards as you fight to survive against the animatronics. Seriously, it’s always the security guard that gets it bad in this world.
It doesn’t stop there, though, for FNAF fans, as creator Scott Cawthon had many tricks up his sleeve to celebrate the franchise’s tenth birthday in August 2024. Following in the footsteps of Mario and Crash, Freddy is getting his own kart racer with the cleverly named Five Laps at Freddy’s, and it looks to feature all of your favorite animatronics, including the likes of Chica and Bonnie.
There’s also FNAF: Secret of the Mimic to look forward to, a game that’s ready to take you back to the 70s again. FNAF’s Mimic is perhaps one of the most intriguing yet terrifying characters in the franchise, so having the opportunity to learn more about it is a serious win in our books.
What platforms is the new FNAF game on?
As Survival Crew is coming exclusively to Roblox, mobile gamers can enjoy the game on both iOS and Android, as can Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players. As exciting as an official FNAF game on Roblox is, we have to address the elephant in the room – Switch players can’t enjoy it as the games platform is yet to arrive on the console. However, if you have a Switch there’s a really good chance you have a mobile phone, so you can always play Survival Crew on there should you not have access to PC or other consoles.
Five Laps at Freddy’s is available as a demo on Steam right now, but it’s unclear whether or not it’s coming to other platforms upon release. It’s not often that a FNAF game is solely for one platform. A kart racer especially sounds like it’ll be right at home on consoles, especially on Nintendo Switch.
What will the new FNAF game be like?
If you’re familiar with FNAF, you likely already have a good idea of what to expect gameplay-wise when it comes to Survival Crew. However, it does offer something a little different. While you play as a security guard (because nothing bad ever happens to the security guard, just ask FNAF’s Mike Schmidt), you don’t actually have to face the horrors alone, as you and three other players can team up.
That premise likely sounds familiar, and it should, as this is more or less another Dead by Daylight, except it’s set in the world of FNAF. A group of players take on the role of survivors, while one other person controls one of the animatronics, such as FNAF’s Freddy, FNAF’s Bonnie, FNAF’s Chica, and FNAF’s Foxy. It’s asymmetrical horror at its finest – maybe get a bit of practice in with DBD, Identity V, or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
We can’t say much about what to expect from Secret of the Mimic, but anyone who’s played Mario Kart, Sonic Racing, or Crash Team Racing knows exactly what to expect from Five Laps at Freddy’s – chaotic driving on tracks in familiar locations with your favorite characters.
New FNAF game release date speculation
Survival Crew is due to release in 2024, and we’ll add a precise date as soon as we know more – given we’re approaching the closing months of 2024, there’s a chance we’ll see a delay that pushes Five Nights at Freddy’s: Survival Crew to next year. However, Five Laps at Freddy’s and Secret of the Mimic aren’t due to arrive until 2025.
