Tower of Fantasy world boss Robarg

Taking on a Tower of Fantasy world boss is an incredible feeling. Testing your mettle and beating those big beasties with your best weapons alongside a team of other wanderers is a great experience, and snagging a bunch of awesome rewards is the icing on the cake.

If you think you’re ready to cut your teeth on the big bads but need a little extra guidance, our Tower of Fantasy world boss guide is here to help. We’re here to help you work out how to team up with other players to take on ToF world bosses, every world boss currently in the game, their weaknesses and resistances, and, most importantly of all, the goodies you can grab to celebrate your victory.

To make sure you’re well-equipped for the occasion, check out our Tower of Fantasy matrices, Tower of Fantasy equipment, Tower of Fantasy cooking, and Tower of Fantasy relics guides. We’ve also got a handy Tower of Fantasy tier list to ensure you’re only bringing the best blades to battle.

What is a Tower of Fantasy world boss?

ToF world bosses are what you’d expect them to be – big, beefy bosses residing in Aesperia. There are currently six world bosses spread around the map, each with their own area, respawn time, and rewards. They have extremely high HP and attack power, so it’s best to take them on with other players.

To claim full rewards from a boss, you need golden type III chips, which you earn from Weekly Rewards. However, you can still do a forced decipher on boss chests, opening them without a chip. In exchange, you get a smaller amount of EXP as well as some ore. The bosses themselves also drop items when defeated, including vehicle maintenance materials, and even the occasional vehicle part.

When a boss is defeated, it takes exactly one hour for it to respawn.

Tower of Fantasy world boss Sobek

How do I make or join a Tower of Fantasy world boss team?

Hotta recommends that you take on world bosses with a team of at least eight players. While it’s possible to defeat them with less people, it takes much longer (believe me, I took on Sobek with one other player recently, it was exhausting). Tower of Fantasy coop teams only let you team up with a maximum of four players, but don’t worry – there are almost always other players on your server taking on the bosses. But before we move onto that, we need to take a look at ‘channels’.

With so many people on each server, Hotta introduced ‘channels’ to prevent overpopulation. Channels are similar to instances in other MMOs, and you can change your channel once every half an hour by tapping the channel button at the top-left of your screen and typing a channel number. This means that, if you want to fight Frost Bot but it’s already been defeated in your current channel, you can hop to another one where it’s alive instead of waiting for it to respawn.

Alternatively, if you’re in a group, you can teleport to the group leader’s channel and location by tapping the overlapping person icon next to the team tab on the right-hand side of the screen. This bypasses the channel switch cooldown, meaning that, by changing which player is the team leader, you can switch channels far more frequently.

World chat is your best friend when taking on a Tower of Fantasy world boss. Keep an eye on world chat for people shouting the name of the boss and which channel they’re in, or shout yourself if you’re already at a boss and need more people. You can even request to join a player’s team directly from world chat by clicking on their name, and they can do the same with you. With a bit of patience, you’ll have a team before you know it.

Teaming up with other players is always a good choice, even if you stumble across a group fighting a boss while on your own. When in a team, you can support each other with heals and shields, which makes the challenge a lot easier.
