Tower of Fantasy Meryl
ToF’s Meryl is the senior executor for Hyrkos. Despite her delicate and elegant appearance, she excels in the most dangerous missions thanks to her outstanding combat and sword-fighting skills. Not unlike her weapon, she wears an ice shell to distance herself from others, hiding her emotions and keeping her feelings to herself. So it’s not just her appearance that reminds us of Disney’s Elsa – maybe she should learn to let it go.
Meryl is an SSR Simulacra. Her Rosy Edge claymore is a defence type weapon that deals ice damage.
Meryl is one of the SSR Simulacra currently available on all banners. This means that you can pull her on the standard Weapons Galore banners using black or gold nucleus, and you also have a chance of getting her on the limited banner if you don’t pull the featured weapon.
To find out more about drop rates, currencies, and current and upcoming limited banners, check out our Tower of Fantasy banners guide.
Meryl’s Rosy Edge is a defence weapon, perfect for a tank build. It has high shatter value and can knock back enemies with its normal attacks alone, and both its skill and discharge skill are great for slicing through targets. Her sword swings are wide and slow, which makes her a bit difficult to use in boss battles, but they also offer decent range and high impact damage. At her third star advancement, Meryl gains an ice shield, which further enhances her tank abilities.
Meryl is an amazing unit in PVP play, whose large, sweeping attacks strike fear into the hearts of opposing players. Her skill is brilliant for shield breaking and is very hard to dodge, and the large ice wall she erects through her discharge attack traps and slows her opponents, making it easy for you to switch to a DPS weapon and finish them off.
Below, we’ve listed all of the main stats for Meryl’s weapon, Rosy Edge. These are the weapon’s base stats before levelling it up or equipping it with any matrices.
The shatter ranking relates to how quickly Meryl can break enemy shields, whereas the charge ranking shows how quickly the weapon gains charge.
- CS: 272
- Shatter: 12.00 (S)
- Charged: 4.00 (B)
- Attack: 15
- Resistance: 7
- HP: 1165
- Type: Ice shell – when your weapon is fully charged, it freezes the target for two seconds and leaves them frostbitten for six seconds. If you break the ice shell, it causes additional damage equal to a set percentage of attack. While frostbitten, the target’s weapon charge rate is reduced
Here are each of Tower of Fantasy Meryl’s skills and attacks. Note that this is based on Rosy Edge’s level one stats, and the damage and buffs increase as you level up the weapon.

|Frost barrier||When weapon charge is full or phantasia is triggered, upon switching to this weapon, cleanse yourself of all debuffs and smash the ground to form a barrier, dealing damage equal to 503.2% of attack +26 to nearby enemies, suspending the targets. This reduces their speed by 50% and stops them from dodge or jump. The barrier lasts five seconds and blocks projectiles.|
You can advance Tower of Fantasy weapons by using their corresponding fusion cores, which you get by acquiring more than one copy of a character. After you get your first copy of Meryl and her Rosy Edge, you can purchase another copy through the Commissary’s weapon store for 120 black gold. Alternatively, you can get a duplicate of Meryl by pulling on the banner, but, of course, this is entirely up to RNG.
Advancing your weapons by spending fusion cores and gold unlocks special bonuses. Here are all of the bonuses you gain from unlocking each of Meryl’s advancement stars.
- One star: increases shatter by 15% and restores 10% of HP after shattering the target’s shield
- Two stars: increases the weapon’s base HP growth by 16%
- Three stars: upon switching to the weapon, gain an ice shield equal to 10% of max HP. The cooldown is 20 seconds. The ice shield lasts up to ten seconds
- Four stars: increases the weapon’s base HP growth by 32%
- Five stars: increases damage and shatter by 50% when the shield is active
- Six stars: upon switching to the weapon, gain an ice shield equal to 20% of max HP. You’re immune to controls when the shield is active. The cooldown is 20 seconds. The ice shield lasts up to ten seconds
As with other SR and SSR Simulacra, Meryl has her own matrix set which is tailored to her kit. Zero’s set is also a good choice for her, due to its increased shielding capacity. You can also use two of Zero’s set and two of Meryl’s set to reap the benefits of both two-piece buffs. However, both of these are SSR sets and can be tricky to get your hands on.
If you’re looking for an SR substitute, we recommend Barbarossa’s set, Double Nightmares. Or, for an easy-to-obtain R rank option to tide you over, you can go with Functional Dash for the base frost damage boost.
Here are all of the best Tower of Fantasy Meryl matrices. For more info, check out our Tower of Fantasy matrices guide.

Meryl is best suited to fortitude teams and synergises well with Huma. Between them, their shielding is near unbreakable, and, along with the fortitude weapon resonance buff, this comp ensures you and your team are ready to take on just about anything. For the third slot, we recommend filling it with a healer that can also deal DPS, like Tower of Fantasy’s Nemesis. Huma, Meryl, and Nemesis are a great choice for PVP due to their high defence and self-sustain.
Alternatively, you can pair Huma and Meryl up with Tower of Fantasy’s King, who further increases Meryl’s shield-breaking capabilities and offers high burst DPS.
